Join Castle Douglas Rotary on a circular signposted cycle ride through peaceful and scenic Stewartry countryside with several places of interest along the way. Three distance options – 15, 30 and 45 miles. Refreshments half way and at the end. Donations welcome on completion. Sag wagon and first aid vehicle in attendance. This year we are supporting Prostate Scotland.
Places of interest include Palnackie village with pub, gallery and harbour; Orchardton Tower, the only round tower in Scotland, run by Historic Scotland; on longer two distances, Auchencairn village, then a roadside refreshment stop before the mid distance route heads back to Castle Douglas on the No.7 National Cycle Network Route; with the longer route heading to Kirkcudbright, with the option of a riverside Doon Bay circuit before also returning to Castle Douglas on the NCN No.7 route.
A popular annual cycle event which caters for regular and casual cyclists. Just turn up on the day by 9.30am to register at the British Legion Hall for 10 am start, no need to pre-book.
